The Dominican Joe Foundation is committed to providing quality educational opportunities for children impacted by poverty — Pre-K through 12th grade, plus vocational and university scholarships for our graduates.
Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic · Class of 2026
The Dominican Joe Foundation went from supporting one small, community-based classroom in 2013 to providing innovative education-based opportunities to 266 children and over 500 community members today — in Las Terrenas, Samaná, Dominican Republic.
Our goal is to provide all our students with the best quality education possible — by hiring excellent teachers, following a rigorous curriculum, equipping students with resources, and applying engaging methodologies. We are currently building the first DJF School / Community Center in partnership with Grupo Therrestra.
From a single classroom in 2013 to a full Pre-K–12 program serving the children of Las Terrenas today.
Pre-K through 12th grade students enrolled in our Las Terrenas program — receiving daily instruction, meals, and the resources to thrive.
Graduates who progressed from our school into vocational training and university programs — supported by DJF scholarships.
Beyond enrolled students, our work reaches families, siblings, teachers, and the wider Las Terrenas community we call home.
When you sponsor a child, you are not making a one-time donation. You are funding a consistent, high-quality education that keeps a classroom fully staffed and a student on a journey from childhood to college.
Your sponsorship provides school supplies, uniforms, educational resources, tutoring, meals, and transportation — and most importantly, a supportive academic family standing behind every scholar.
